More details to this question:
my husband dies and i co-signed for a card of his and i forgot about it and now i am asked to paid the debt that i cannot paid. i am retired, get paid once a month. Do i make arrangement to paid the debt

If you cosigned for the credit card, you are likely still liable for the debt accumulated.  It really depends on the documents you signed.  That being said, credit card companies regularly settle claim for outstanding balances.  You can try to deal with the credit card company yourself, but may find more success if you hire an attorney.   Best of luck.
