Animal neglect and death

More details to this question:
My dog was under the care of a woman in Florida while I was on the road in semi with her son. We broke up and I was making arrangements with volunteer rescue to fly my dog home to Florida and the night before she was to be picked up by the volunteers I got a text from my ex my dog was dead and the cops went out and were told my dog was missing as of that afternoon. For 2 weeks she wouldn't let anyone on property to look, she took her dog somewhere else and put rat poison out. 2wks later seen rats head eaten and decided to look for my dog and was found dead. She didn't call sheriff's cell as asked, she buried my dog, had a garage sale all weekend then called the following Tuesday for sheriff to report it. He dug up my dog to cremate and return to me in Iowa. Can I successfully do a civil case for neglect, pain and suffering...etc? I have several animal rights groups supporting me. This woman also had shot her own dog in the head in it's kennel in 2008 and charged with felony they droppe

If by supporting you, you mean financially and they are willing to fully fund the litigation, then you have a viable case, at least to start. Absent an autopsy and with the cremation you may have difficult time proving she "killed" your dog. You will at least have the ability to set her for deposition and possibly other witnesses to force thier testimony under oath.
