More details to this question:
I have a pitbull that was adopted. I live in a walkup Community. While walking the dog, he began barking at the maintenance guy, got loose from the leash and tried to attack the maintenance man. However, there were no injuries and the maintenance man kicked my dog various times. I was able to restrain my dog and take him home, but the maintenance man just knocked on my door and said he was going to sue me. Can you please advise on what I should do? I’m not protected under my renters insurance for my dog.

Well, thats what happens when you don't control your animal. YOu probably need to retain a lawyer, at your expense, to try to sort this out if possible BEFORE it escalates out of control.
