A veterinarian caused my very valuable, imported from Germany, Friesian gelding to die due to not practicing accepted "standards of care" for the horse. I have extensively researched the horse's condition and have found that this vet ignored ALL the usual and customary treatments and recommendation for his emergency condition. I am seeking at least $250,000 in loss, damages and emotional stress. This was not only a beloved horse but a rare and expensive breed of horse that was highly trained and very expensive to replace. I have been in contact with the malpractice insurance company for this vet but I need some additional "teeth" to get them to pay the claim. I have filed a complaint with the State of TN licensing board. The insurance want another vet or qualified professional to say that this vet committed malpractice. This vet also breached our verbal contract to treat emergency farm call horses.
