someone hacked my email to change banking info for payments due from a client to me to their bank account (immediately took out money), payment was never received on my end, the company claims they do not owe me anything due to their terms and conditions, even though their security is very low

Client is not likely liable. But if you are a business owner, you should check with your broker to see if you have insurance to cover this situation. Otherwise, put in a cliam to the bank and see if they will replace the money.
