Bankrupt?

More details to this question:
I am disabled prior service Marine, single father of 2 small children. Wife/ Mother of my children walked out 4 years ago. Has not supported or visited children in years. Waiting on SSDI & VA cases (2 years) to be approved. Received judgement of $10K for medical bills (without ever knowing of court case). $0 income in 2 years. Never had a credit card, paid all 5 car loans, and rent. Currently raising children best I can in family owned apartment, don't have to pay the rent until I get my SSDI and/or VA payments. Can not work by Doctors limitation (No lifting, No repetitive, No prolonged Standing or Sitting. Made it these past 2 years WITHOUT social services assistance, selling personal property. No support (Courts claim they can not find wife/ mother). Can NOT pay $10k judgement due to having only $39.42 currently. Is bankruptcy my next step?

It would seem that you have little choice if you already are seeing judgments come in.  If, as you say, you knew nothing of the action that produced the judgment, you might want to consider an order to show cause to vacate the judgment.  Further you mention that you own the apartment and owe rent.  Is it a condo, a co-op, or what?  That coould all make a difference regarding the effect of the judgment.
