can I file for bankruptcy for medical coverage

More details to this question:
I was married got separated me spouse had her own medical coverage then she lost her job she filed for a no contest divorce her lawyer calls me and teels me if I can put her back on my insurance I said I never took her off reason being my son was on the plan it was family and the cost was no different if I had her taken off so she starts to use the plan unknowning to me when the divorce is final she kept using the plan until she received her disability hen when that was final I send then the divorce papers they send me a bill of over 40,000. my health plan says I have to pay this I was never informed though I was doing the right thing I have excellent credit what can I do do she have to pay for this or I

Bankruptcy would in theory discharge the claim.  But, the insurance company could claim insurance fraud, and seek to bar your discharge.  You will not know unless you try.
