Can I get a wage garnishment refunded and how?

More details to this question:
The IRS took a wage garnishment payment after the filing of my chapter 13 bankruptcy. Can I get that refunded and how?

Tell your attorney and he can get it back as long as its for taxes due before you filed the BK case.

No authority or party should be taking anything from you without applying for relief of the automatic stay while you are in bankruptcy. If you have an attorney, ask him/her to forward of copy of when you filed the bankruptcy to the IRS and demand the amount returned.

That should be directed to your chapter 13 attorney. If you don't have one you should really get one as the process of returning the wage garnishment may be very involved.
