I received a letter from a law office saying that my home is scheduled for a foreclosure auction at the end of the month. There was even a date and time for the auction as well as a case number. I already have legal representation and they confirmed that no such auction is scheduled. I also confirmed this with the county clerk's office. I called the law office in question and they dismissed me saying that it was simply an advertisement and that it says so on the letter. It does not. When I received this letter I went into a panic, a panic to think that I would have to vacate in two weeks. I was extremely distressed to find that the law office was so nonchalant in intentionally sending out such false information and to be so pleased with themselves in how they prey upon homeowners in trouble.
