Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing

More details to this question:
If I file for chapter seven in tx. is my home protected if I am still paying the mortgage or can I be foreclosed on by the bank? Only income is SS. and wife had assets that must be protected.

Good morning Yes you can flie a chp7. As long as you are current on your mortgage and if your only source of income is social security, you will be eligible to file a chp7 case.  Pertaining to your wife's asset, depending on what they are, they can be protected, but it depends If you reside in the Houston area, then you can give a call to our office for a free consultation  Peter Kim, Attorney
