Yes, the filing fee is around $300, and it costs anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars to hire an attorney to do your bankruptcy, if you don't represent yourself. The attorney will be paid before the filing date, so that he or she is not one of your creditors when you file. If you are without funds to file the petition, you can ask for a waiver of fees. The information for this, and the forms to file your bankruptcy petition, are all available at the Bankruptcy Court, in person and on line. Good luck.

Yes, there is a filing fee. The real cost is the consequences to someone when they file for bankruptcy without understanding how bankruptcy affects their lives, their assets and their right to collect certain funds (such as tax refunds). Please understand that filing for bankruptcy is a very complicated process. It is wise to talk to an experienced bankruptcy attorney before deciding to take this important step.

Of course! Bankruptcy is not a program for the impoverished althuogh there are ways in which those who qualify financially can obtain a court order to waive the expenses associated with filing bankruptcy. But most indigent people I see do not need to file bankruptcy, they only want to file bankruptcy to avoid dealing with their persistent creditors.

Yes, there is a court filing fee which can only be waived in extreme circumstances, fees for required classes, and attorneys' fees. The attorneys' fee range is quite large and depends on which chapter you are filing, what your situation is, and which attorney you choose.

The court charges a filing fee of $306 for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, and about $281 for a chapter 13. It's best to hire a lawyer, since you can get into needless complications otherwise.

You will have to pay the filing fee, unless the court approves a waiver request, and you will have to take 2 courses that you pay for. You should contact the clerk of the Bankruptcy court in your district for additional information regarding costs.
