I recently found out that on my and my husband's credit we not only have our discharged bankruptcy on our credit but we have a dismissed one as well. It it was from October 2005 for both of them. I know our bankruptcy was discharged and now we have this other dismissed one on there. Making our credit worse than what it already is. I spoke with transunion and they are going to investigate but could take up to 30 days. Meanwhile, a rental property we wanted we are going to loose on a techinicality?
This is not really a bankruptcy question, but rather one that involves the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and should be directed to any attorney who handles those matters.
You can dispute any entry on a credit report, but I'm not sure of any mechanism to expedite the correction in time to finish your purchase.
