In Ohio, there is a state law that allows you to stop the credit reporting agencies from issuing reports. You opt in by contacting the credit reporting agencies on their website. If you want to get a loan or credit card in the future, you can lift the block for a couple weeks.

I am not sure. Your best bet is to contact the three major credit reporting agencies and ask them. They probably have websites from which you could contact them.
