I have been trying to sell my house in a short sale. I am not getting an offer that suits the lenders. My house is scheduled for foreclosure sale.

More details to this question:
My house is sceduled for forecloure in 3 weeks. My only debt is my house. I will probably have a deficiency of $50,000. I was unemployed for 10 months and then I found a job and had to relocate from Missouri to Texas. My house will not sell for what I owe and I cannot pay for 2 residences. Recently my parent passed away and I have inherited $30,000. Should I deposit this check and report it. Can the lenders come after me for that money I inherited. I don''t really want to give that up. If they come after me for the deficiency, should I file for Chapter 7, or will it be too late by that time. Should I file for bankruptcy before the foreclosure takes place. My house is my only debt, outside of a student loan. My income is below the median income. Can I go ahead and put some of my money in an IRA. Can I sign my inheritance over to my kids, or would that be frowned upon. I need help quick! Thank you.
Generally speaking, you can delay a foreclosure sale by filing for bankruptcy protection even if you do not complete the bankruptcy. I suggest you consult with an experienced Texas bankruptcy attorney. You may be able to legally protect the cash by using it to purchase exempt property and then filing bankruptcy.
