QUESTION

If I apply for a trustee, will that affect my ability to file bankruptcy?

Asked on Mar 25th, 2012 on Bankruptcy - Florida
More details to this question:
I am filing bankruptcy soon and also have student loan debt that cannot be discharged through bankruptcy. I have received litigation for the student loan debts owed. I have the option to apply for a trustee to avoid garnishment. If I apply for a trustee, will that affect my ability to file bankruptcy? Should I just file the bankruptcy first? Will I be able to apply for a trustee after the bankruptcy for the student loan debt?

I do not know what you mean by "to apply for a trustee". When you file bankruptcy a trustee is appointed. The student loan debt will still be owed except for some extreme circumstances.
