Is this letter coming from a legitimate attorney?

More details to this question:
I got a scary email today in my email from a payday attorney. In that email, they say they have been trying to get a hold of me and they never called. They say I owe $740. Do you think this is a true attorney or a scam? They also said they will contact my employer and take my paycheck.

I would like to see the letter. It may be real or not but threats are improper in a letter especially by an attorney.
