Reply letter on a forclosure lawsuit

Hello.. I was wondering if you can help. Yesterday my partner and I was served with foreclosure papers from the holder of the mtg Bank Of New York. My mtg serviced by Bank Of America. I was advised by the proxy server that we had 20 days to respond to the lawsuit . Is this an area where you may be able to help ? I plan on constructing the letter by self and sending it by Certified mail to the Lake County court house and to the Lawyers for the bank of New York. My problem is I am not all that familiar with the legal language that is needed to construct the letter. Please advise if you can or cannot help. So I May find another avenue of information .
