Asked on Oct 07th, 2012 on Bankruptcy - South Carolina
More details to this question:
We had a new roof installed by Roofing company in June2011. Roofing company is now filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Roofing company provided a 5 year workmanship guarantee; Manufacturer of roofing material provides a lifetime architectural shingle warranty. I have received notification from the U.S. Bankruptcy court, Columbia South Carolina. But these notifications are written to creditors. Do I have any legal rights as a consumer?

You are a creditor. The debtor has an obligation to you that can be reduced to money.
