What can collection agencies do to me for old debts?

More details to this question:
Some llc and collection agencies are sending me notices of old debts around 18 years ago. I am on long term disability from my employer since 1992 . Recently, I bought a house from inheritance money. What can they do against me?

Well, the first thing to do is to review the “claim” and to apply the relevant statute of limitations to the claim. So, I may suggest that you elect an attorney of your choice and forward him/her a copy of the letters you are receiving so that further analysis can be conducted.
