Asked on Mar 21st, 2011 on Bankruptcy - California
More details to this question:
I settled a case with a creditor in 2007, so no judgment was issued. Now 4 years later I'm getting calls from the same company. I looked online and it shows that case had recent activity that is case set on status call. Can they re-open the case if it was already settled?

The court is just trying to find out if you paid the settlement amount in full so that the case can be dismissed as per the settlement agreement. It is just a way for the court to keep an eye on the case and dismiss it if it no longer needs to remain open for you to complete your payments under the settlement.
