I retained an attorney to handle the closing on a condo I was purchasing. He told me the total cost for the closing was $600.00 which I paid. The owners received a cash offer for more money than my offer so the deal fell through. The attorney did go over the purchase agreement and also spoke to the seller of the condo's attorney. I asked for a refund due to the fact that a closing never took place. I did not ask for a full refund. The attorney should be compensated for the time and paperwork he did on the purchase agreement. After several months of emails and telephone calls I received a check on November 14 in the amount of $66.67.
What do you want, you violated your agreement and yipped to the point you were given a partial refund not called for under the retainer. Do you only pay you doctor if your illness is cured?
