What happens if I can't pay a judgment?

More details to this question:
I have a judgment entered against me for $1600 and I don't own anything and I don't work because I can't. I have no means of paying judgement so is there a way to end this?

The creditor is entitled to have you come into court and state under oath the facts re your assets and income.

They can continue to try to collect, but of course one can not collect what is not there. Do you receive any exempt income? Any non-exempt income like help from friends and family. Never keep exempt and non-exempt income in the same place. Always spend up the non-exempt income first on your necessities. If it can be found in an account, it can be grabbed. Better still, if someone gives you funds for the water bill, for example, ask them to please pay the bill direct, where the funds are never in your name and are a dedicated gift.
