QUESTION

When do I receive discharge?

Asked on Mar 11th, 2013 on Bankruptcy - Maryland
More details to this question:
I self-filed for bankruptcy in Maryland. My trustee meeting was 9 Jan 13. I'm giving up my house and no one contested. It's 11 Mar 13 and I haven't heard anything. I thought they had 60 days to make a decision one way or the other.

First, make sure that you filed your financial management course certificate. Second, the 60 days is only a hard deadline for someone to object to your discharge or the dischargeability of any particular debt. The court may enter the discharge order any time after the 60 days passes. Be patient.
