Why didn't I receive notice that I was a creditor on a chapter 13

More details to this question:
I was not notified of the chap 13 until a year after and was then added. Have been denied claim because its past bar date.

You need to have a bankruptcy attorney in your area examine your case closely, but here are my initial suggestions: If you already filed your claim, and the debtor objected to it, and the court sustained the objection (and presumably you properly informed the court that the reason for the late filed claim was lack of notice), then you are out of luck as far as receiving funds from the Chapter 13.  The key here is whether the court made a finding that you DID get adequate notice of the case.  If that's true, you're out of options.  If it's not, then you may be able to treat the debt as not being discharged and after the Chapter 13 case is completed, commence collection actions against the debtor.
