A very high percentage of the Chapter 7 cases I file are for people who are self employed. So being self employed now or having been self employed is not, by itself, a barrier to filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Why would you think otherwise?

Not likely, you just have to report it and also report if there are any assets remaining from your business, including receivables.

No, being self employed doesn't affect filing a chapter 7. However, if you currently have a business with assets, say you own a bulldozer for your landscaping business, that is an asset and you may have to turn it over.

Of itself, your having been self-employed should have no effect whatever on your filing a Ch. 7 case. Good Luck.
