Will I be in contempt if the action was listed as administrative review scheduled the same day at 5PM?

I volunteer for my local police department. I picked up and dropped off paperwork for them from them or the county court clerk. While in the court lobby, I noticed a creditor name as plaintiff versus my name. I have received no written notice requiring a signature nor in person notice. I panicked, as I did not understand the proceeding nor did I know how to respond. Please inform me as to possibly being in contempt of court.
