would bankurptcy be the best

More details to this question:
she is in about 20.000 plus in credit card debt.. she and her ex husband still live in the same household, but due to protective service he has to move else where and she feel she cantt live withouthis income, she has 3 card that are also in his name that the bal is about 13,000 that he has no ideal about. she own her house that she only owe 13,000 that will be paid off in two years, is it a good thing for her to file bankrutpcy? she dont want to leave or loss her house and if she does file will that 13,000 debt fall on her ex husband, shes 85 and hes 87. please let us know what should be done, she have medical bill, her SS is about 1100 and pension from city of detroit about a 1000

It really depends upon what her house is worth. She can keep about $56000 in quity, but if there is more than that, it would hvae to be used (in a bankruptcy) to pay her credit cards or other bills. Good Luck to her.
