Battery was draining, all instruments didn''t work while engine runs. Took auto to a repair shop that advertises 36 month limited warranty on parts and labor. Mechanic says auto was fixed by cleaning the battery ground on the auto body frame, cost, $100 +. Two days later, same problem with insturments, Took auto back, told it was the insturment panel, had to be sent off to repair, total cost $300+. Seems to me I was charged twice because the problem wasn''t dignosed properly the first time. Since the instrurments failed again, two days after the first repair, why didn''t the pro-rated limited warranty go iinto effect, so my bill was only the first $100+. I wasn''t offered a written estimate on either repair, but they state "no scare" repair. I only have seen the advertisted warranty wording, I need to get a copy of the policy, as I believe FL declares warranties as insurance.
In small claims pleading, you describe your claim to the clerk just the way you did here. The clerk will reduce it to a few short sentences. No legal formality is required. Warranties by the seller are not insurance.
