More details to this question:
I own a home-based business, selling handmade products online. I''m registered as a sole proprietorship. I hired someone part-time to help me, including driving packages to the post office. If she gets in a car accident, while running an errand for me, can I be sued by her or by the other person involved in the accident? What is my liability?
As a general matter, you are liable for the negligence of your employees (and possibly even for their intentional torts) which occur in the course and furtherance of their employment. This is why God created insurance.
