Can i sue a mechanic for lost wadges ?

More details to this question:
i was told my truck (only form of income) would be repaired in two weeks if i gave him $2000 to get started right away and the total amount for repair would be $3500 -$4500 if anything new came up . It has now been over two months and still not complete and asking for more than quoated price . i have lost out on at least $15,000 of business in last two months .

Such so-called consequential damages are generally not recoverable in such circumstances. Because the mechanic could not reasonably foresee that you would suffer such damages, courts do not award them. Moreover, there are steps you could have taken to mitigate your damages, such as renting a replacement truck.
