I worked at car dealer in accounting for almost 9yrs, 7 w/o any write up/problems. New boss transfer from sister, old boss due to retire. New boss and I exchange words(disagree) before he''s officially controller at my location. his 1st year I had a write up 2x, and I was office mgr and only black lady in the office and staff of white ladies. He did not think I was doing a decent job or not well trained, I was demoted after 1yr of his start, and replaced by his boss assisant who is white and received a better title and pay than me, I contacted hr and his boss and said I was experienceing a Shirley Sherrod moment(former agriculture Secretary)was tense from there. 1yr after that I made some "significant error" forgot to scan 400k deposit for that day, and posted some entrties to wrong account and was fired. My white replacement who had become my supervisor was suppose to reconcile everday, but didn''t for a whole month so the error wasn''t caught till 30 days later and she''s still there.
Anyone can sue anyone for anything. Because your employer had a bona fide non-discriminatory reason for firing you, you will face a relatively heavy burden of proving that the employer's claimed excuse for termination was pretextual and that discrimination was the real reason. See an attorney.
