More details to this question:
I own and operate a business in Texas. I run the business as a DBA. I have 2 bank accounts. One personal and one under my business name. I have 2 personal debts. One is student loans and the other is from a house foreclosure. My question is, can the debt collectors levy my business bank account?
1 ANSWER
Yes. A d/b/a is not a separate legal entity like a corporation or llc. D/B/A just means "doing business as", meaning that there is no legal distinction between you and the business. You, the debtor, are simply "doing business as" whatever name you use for your business.
