How can another partner of an LLC unfreeze a business credit card account when a partner dies?
Asked on Oct 31st, 2012 on Business Law - Virginia
More details to this question:
The partner that died was listed as primary card holder. The credit card company said we would have to close the account and open another one. That doesn't seem right.
This is between you and the credit card issuer. It appears that the credit card was not issued in the name of the LLC, but rather in the name of the deceased partner. The credit card company is under no obligation to continue the account.
