More details to this question:
rehirable. i beleive they used my mistake of selling tabacco to a minor to fire me due to leaving on maternity leave since i was 8 months pregnant. i currently collect unemployment through this company and feel like this is discrimination due to the fact that i was pregnant. ive suffered for the past year trying to find employment due to lack of training they didnt provide and insecurity they gave other possible employment oppurtunitys i had lined up and didnt get because i was charged with a misdemeanor and am still paying a fine that i feel as though the company should be paying for. im on the verge of loosing my home because i cant find work due to the incident being on my record.
Distilling your inquiry into its most basic parts, it sounds as if you are asserting that pregnancy discrimination was the cause of a cascading sequence of negative consequences for you. Discrimination cases are hard to prove, and the plaintiff bears a heavy burden. That burden is virtually insurmountable where, like here, the plaintiff admits to having misconducted herself and that misconduct constitutes a bona fide non-discriminatory reason for the adverse employment action taken. By all means consult an attorney regarding your situation.
