If a flooring company damaged my painted walls, who gets to choose which painter repairs them?

More details to this question:
i recently had my office repainted and then floors retiled. We did it in that sequence based on the flooring company''s advice. When the floors were done there was significant damage (gouged out areas and large cracks) to the walls. My painter said he has to spackle and repaint. The flooring co. says his estimate is too high and wants to bring in their painter .Am I obligated to let him do this? My painter is good and I believe him to have integrity.
As a general matter, you have the absolute right to have the work done by a contractor of your choice. However, the amount of the damages you have suffered -- essentially, the reasonable value of the repairs -- appears to be in dispute. Perhaps you can persuade the flooring vendor to pay you in cash something a bit more than the cost to them of using their own contractor, and you can then choose yours to do the work.
