I am a 21 year old, Sales consultant for an insurance compant.
Recently I was in compliance and quality training, and in order to help me understand and follow process, I complided a document.
The document is a checklist of the process needs to be followed in order to do the job perfectly.
This document was in my name, orginally. I then sent the document to my training to confirm that everything os correct on it.
She then confirmed it is, so I continued to use it.
Later this very document was signed off as business process and distributed to all the sales consulants to use. The name has been changed, the business is less at risk (compliance wise) and the sales consultants and business is making more money because of it.
The new document no accredation to me at all as the orginal document was in my name and the have changed it.
My question is, if this is legal and if not how do Imove forward in sue'ing?
If, as it appears, you compiled the document in the course and furtherance of your employment, then the copyright in the document belongs to your employer. Since it is the employer's and not yours, your employer need not attribute the document to you and may choose incorrectly to attribute it to someone else.
