Is there anything that can be done regarding my employer not posting a schedule, therefore not leaving adequate time for me to find child care?

More details to this question:
The schedule is supposed to come out every Thursday and should be posted for 2 weeks in advance. The manager rarely puts out a schedule, instead insisting that the employees call the day of to find out if they''re being "scheduled" to work. I have a toddler that is 18 months old and finding a sitter at such short notice (anywhere from 1 hour to 4 hours notice) is almost impossible. I''ve had to miss out on several days of work already in the short 2 months that I''ve worked for this company. I even quit once (was asked to come back and promised that things would be different) and when they didn''t change I quit again (on Wednesday 6/13/12). So now I don''t have a job because he never put out the schedule and I could never find child care. I''m worried about losing my house because my husband doesn''t make enough to cover all our bills and mortgage.

Unfortunately, no law requires an employer to tell its employees any particular number of days in advance whether their services are required. I'm sorry, and this is extremely unfair to working mothers like you.
