QUESTION

Painting Addendum

Asked on Jun 12th, 2014 on Business Law - Michigan
More details to this question:
I drafted up a painting addendum for a leased property and noticed after lessors & I (i.e. Landlord) signed the addendum that the year was incorrect. Since both parties did not notice this till afterward does that invalidate the addendum? Does a new one have to be drawn up even if the tenants no longer want to go forward with painting any part of the property? Or is the voided because it is considered a bilateral mistake?

In  most cases, the incorrect date would not be material and would not void the contract.
