Asked on Sep 30th, 2016 on Business Law - California
More details to this question:
Hello, I consider buying a roofing business, don't have a license. The seller agrees to stay as RMO after the transaction. Just would like to understand if it is legal if he will not be involved in daily activities/supervision. Thanks

Short answer: no.  It is against the licensing laws to have an RMO who is not actually involved in the business.  You need to get your own license.  Cal Bus & Prof Code §7068.1 mandates the active involvement of the qualifying person in the business of the licensed entity.
