Special beauty training course is asking that I sign a non-compete that will bar me from training others for 5 years.

More details to this question:
I signed up to take an eyelash extension training course in California, but offered by a NY company. They said that that I listed on my site that I'm a trainer as well, and the techniques they train are trade secrets and have refuse to train me. I may be allowed to train, but only if I sign this 5 yr non-compete. Must I sign and is it enforceable in CA?

Normally non-compete agreements are not enforceable in Califoria as against public policy. The one you describe does not appear to be an exception.
