What can my daughter do about clearing her name after a wrongful termination?

My daughter was terminated this morning,by phone, from her job at a fast food resturaunt. She is being accused of theft from the register simply because she was there when they "think" the money was taken. The manager stated in the phone call that they had no proof, but that they had enough to terminate her. Can she do anything to clear her name? Do they have the right to terminate her just because she was there when they "think" the money went missing?

Kansas is an "at will" employment state. That means that an employee may be terminated at any time for any reason or no reason at all, with certain exceptions not applicable to your fact pattern. There is no practical recourse for her. If you have concerns about this situation, she needs to consult a local attorney.
