What is my best option?

More details to this question:
I am writing to see if you can help me with a potential legal problem. I joined the Interglobal Flight School at Danbury Airport in CT about a year ago but recently I have decided not to pursue a flight career. I have a remaining balance on the school account of just under $800 that I have requested in person to be refunded. Our last conversation with the owner was at the end of August when he agreed to reimburse me by the 24th of September. But that did not happen. The owner of the school has proved to be unscrupulous. I went to the office recently and all of the signs for the school have been taken down and it looks like the company may have folded. But the owner seems to be still operating a party business from the hangar area of the office. I have tried to contact him several times but he does not answer my calls. What should I do? Is it worth it try to get my money back? I feel horrible about this situation. Thank you

You can file a small claims case against him and his company. If his company has disolved you will likely not be able to recover.  However if you can sue him personally and there was no LLC or INC and it was just a sole proprietorship you may be able to get a judgment against him that you can collect on.  Please feel free to contact us for further assistance (203)870-6700
