Am i protected from negative info on my credit report with the Service Member Civil Relief Act?

More details to this question:
I purchased a home while on active duty military. I got out and still owned the home. I came back into the military and continued to own the home. I then got divorced and as a result of getting the home in the divorce, i had to miss a few payments and did a deed in lieu. (had to pay child support and new rent over house. children way more important) Can they report anything negative on my credit report for that? Am i protected in any way with the SMCR? I was told over the phone when i initiated the start of the deed in lieu, 'that nothing negative will be reported'. I guess i signed something when i did 50 pages of documents returning the home that stated, "understand that negative report to credit" or something along that lines. But honestly, who ready that other than you lawyers?
