Can you file a civil suit for being falsely accused of theft?

My daughter was accused of theft and went to jail had to make bond she was on parole when this happen and was violated before she went to court and she was found not guilty but is still in jail until December of this year this happen in Sept. of 2015 it was a employment services that accused her so she been in jail for something she didn't do for almost a year is there anything she can do

It appears that your daughter is not in jail because of the theft charge but because her parole was violated.
