QUESTION

Can your parents deny your first amendment rights

Asked on Dec 26th, 2019 on Civil Rights - Connecticut
More details to this question:
My girlfriends parents do not let her practice her religion; she is wiccan and a minor. Thet want her to be catholic They forbid her from partaking in any wiccan traditions like holidays and such. Can they do that? Because to me that sounds like a breech of the first amendment to me, and also the first amendment is supposed to apply to both adults and minors. What can she do?

If she is a minor, she can try to get emancipated. If she is not a minor, they should not be able to prohibit her from expressing her freedoms.  Good luck.
