QUESTION

Fourth Amendment Right in DuPage

Asked on Jan 23rd, 2013 on Civil Rights - Illinois
More details to this question:
I am in DuPage County, Illinois. The townships are insisting that renters sign papers, one of which states I give permission for police to enter my unit for any reason and at any time, whether I am home or not. I think this is against the Fourth Amendment Right and I am wondering how thet can get away with that? I am personally 56, live alone, and am disabled and have been living in this unit for 8 years and never an issue with law enforcement. I know I am not being singled out but that all renters are required to sign this, but I just do not see how it is legal. Can anyone explain this to me? Thank you in advance
