My boss is refusing to pay me minimum wage he refuses to pay for my gas and my parts for my car I would've been able to pay for my parts on my own but every single check since I've been work and I'm only getting a hundred dollars but all my coworkers are telling me they can pay off two cars and rent and child support all of this off this one job I got coworker's that are telling me they are make $300/ $400 A week and I put in more hours than them I do more work than them and my boss telling me that he got to break my hours down and give me half on my check and half in cash I don't understand this I try getting more hours my boss said he refused to give me more hours he said because he got men that been there longer than me I deserve more I come in on my days off to try to make more money but he has me on a steady pay with the same pay every week please can someone help me I have no job because my boss fired me because I keep harassing him he said for more hour and higher pay
You cannot be fired for demanding that you be paid fairly, and you cannot be paid less than minimum wage for your work. Although normally you would be considered an "employee at will" who could be fired for any non-discriminatory reason, once you complained about not being paid fairly and were fired for it, you became a "whistle blower" because you essentially reported a violation of the law to your employer- being underpaid. You then were protected by the law from retaliatory termination. Assuming you really did not get paid minimum wage and were fired for complaining about it, you have a good case, and the law says your boss must pay your attorney fees if you win.
