More details to this question:
I am being harassed at a big name college in Poughkeepsie by campus security for my Student ID. This has happened 3 times in the past year. The security guards claim I do not look like a student, so they ask me for my student ID. The first of May the s*** hit the fan. I had 5 of their cars and guards surrounding my vehicle for a complete shake down for ID, class schedule, parking permit... All passed. Afterwords, there was not even a "sorry for the inconvenience." All for "safety" on campus. Campus shootings are by 20 year old students. I now have time to address this. Looking to sue for 2 purposes. 1) stop the harassment, and 2) financial compensation for emotional distress.
Why do they think you don't look like a student? If it's because of the color of your skin, or something connected with your religion, or your accent, or simply because you're older, you may have a good case for discrimination. If, on the other hand, it's because you drive a monster truck, or a limousine with tinted windows accompanied by people who look like the cast of the Sopranos, or dress like a homeless person and stagger around campus smelling like drugs and like you haven't bathed for weeks.... you have no case.
So, which is it?
