Hi. I bougth car about 2 months ago. The men who sold the car call me and ask more money. He has police friend. Yesterday police oficer called me he said you own 2000 dolar for car you have to pay it or you are going to lose your car soon. How is it possible?  I bouth with cash and he gave me the title. The car is under my name. There is one thing I don't have any recipt. I realy get confused  they can take my car? How can I proff that I already paid him?   Pls help me should I sued them?

the key is what is written on the title which sets forth the price of the car. if you agree upon $5000 and the title states the purchase price to be $5000, then that is the price and your proof of payment. you will have more difficulty if you did not note the actual purchase price. ed dimon, esq.
