QUESTION

Possible Temp Discrimination in the workplace?

Asked on May 21st, 2013 on Discrimination - New Jersey
More details to this question:
I have been working with a company thru a temp agency for a year and a month now. I have been constantly regarded as an asset to the company, but am still a temp. Since being hired in April 2012, I have yet to be hired, but several people have been hired before me. I recently got "promoted" from a warehouse position to a corporate position, but am still a temp. Two other people who have no experience or time in with the company have come in, and got hired within 48 hours. I don't want to play the race card, but I am starting to feel as if there's more to this than my performance, which I have been told several times is very good. Am I being discriminated against?

many companies are keeping employees in a 'temporary' status to avoid having to provide benefits. if the company has a legitimate reason for the 'temporary' status, the discrimination lawsuit will be difficult to win. ed dimon, esq.
